QPT
High-power motor drives and EVs

The hardware performance of motor drives has barely changed in twenty years. QPT's drives switch 100× faster and send the motor a pure sine wave. The system costs less, delivers higher precision and performance and wastes less energy.

$56Bn in motor drives and $25Bn in EVs and charging by 2030.

What changes

Three wins, across the whole system.

System cost
Up to 20%
lower system cost for an EV motor

Ordinary cables instead of screened. High precision from low-cost motors, or enhanced precision from existing motors. A smaller drive that enables a simpler motor.

System efficiency
Up to 10%
more efficient motor-drive system than a conventional 4–16 kHz drive

A pure sine wave reduces heat, noise and vibration on the motor. We cut switching losses by 80% and harvest the rest.

System performance
100×
faster switching than a conventional drive

Enables ‘sensing without sensors’ to correct, in real time, for mechanical and electrical imperfections.

Conventional drive vs QPT

Same motor. Two ways to drive it.

A conventional drive switches a few thousand times a second. QPT's switches a million. This allows us to integrate a tiny, cheap filter that delivers a pure sine wave to the motor.
