QPT
Technology

Power, control and sensing in one module. Today it switches a million times a second, and we can scale that frequency up in the future. It comes in three versions built on the same core IP.

Inside qIPM

One system, built from stacked power cells.

qMicroModules do the power conversion. qIPM adds everything around them: the control, the sensing, the output filter and the packaging.

System controller
qControl

Runs the stack and the motor at a million cycles a second.

Voltage and current sensing
qSense

Reads the motor from the drive's own signal, so no extra sensors.

More on qMicroModule
Small and cheap
Output filter

Because the switching is so fast, a tiny filter is enough.

EM-minimised packaging. Laid out to keep electrical noise down at megahertz speeds.
Out
A pure sine wave to the motor, or DC power to the rack
DC in: 48 V, 400 V or 800 V. Inside qIPM: qControl, qSense, stacked qMicroModule cells (GaN, qDrive, qHarvest, ZEST), Output filter, EM-minimised packaging. Out: A pure sine wave to the motor, or DC power to the rack.

What it does for the system.

01
Lower system cost

No need for expensive screened cables, improved motor performance, and a smaller, integrated drive.

02
Higher system efficiency

A pure sine wave reduces heat, noise and vibration on the motor. We cut switching losses by 80% and harvest the rest.

03
Sensing built in

Reads the motor from its own signal, so no extra sensors.
